The carrier/Dead swans
Before the year ends, I wanna leave you with one last post. This night I went to the last show of the year, here's a little review:
I missed the firsted two band (Accept the change and Midnight souls), for the simple reason that I couldn't find the venue. First band I saw was Endbringer (Ger), a German hardcoreband. First time I saw them, even the first time I heard them. They had a pretty dark sound, I liked that. I'm surely gonna check them out again. After Endbringer, the time had come for A strength within. They were releasing their EP on this show. Same thing as Endbringer: first time I ever saw/heard them, but was a pleasant surprise. They really got the crowd going. Fifth band to play was True colors, but I missed them as well. Dead swans (UK), second to last band, were up next. This was the moment I was looking forward to. They openend with the first track of their album Sleepwalkers, and from then on the crowd just went nuts. Mosh-pits, two-steps, stagedives ... The whole thing! Last band of the evening was The carrier (US). Again, same thing as Dead swans: from the first song everybody went wild. The guys from The carrier were so kind to play some new songs (which will be released somewhere in 2010 on Deathwish inc.).
+: cool venue, there was vegi/vegan food available (big up to the people who were willing to do this)
-: missing Midnight souls, the venue got to hot after a while
I also bought some new merch: a Dead swans t-shirt and Converge - Axe to fall 12"

And their eyes were bloodshot
For the Belgian folks who don't know you guys; let's give a little introduction!
hey! we're and their eyes were bloodshot (pask, zach, sean and jake) from worksop, england!
On the last tour we heard some new songs, are there any plans for a new EP/CD?
yeah we'll be recording an EP over the next few months that will be released on smalltown records (penknife lovelife, flood of red etc) around august time.
What bands had the most influence on your music?
although we all have a varied taste in music and genre's as a collective i guess we would say Norma Jean, The Chariot, Misery Signals and bands such as this.
You do have a busy tour-schedule. What do you miss most when on the road?
well without speaking for the whole band i guess it'd be a good nights sleep :P and girlfriends and friends back home that can't all come on the road with us.
Is there any difference between the audience here and in the UK?
yeah the audiences in belgium are alot different to that of the UK. the belgian audience seems to have time for all the bands playing and has respect for the bands a bit more than in the UK. unless you're known in the UK its hard to get a good show.
Although you’re not on a label, you’ve got a solid fan base here in Belgium. How does that feel?
well we have now signed to smalltown records. but the fact that we have been over to belguim three times unsigned and had such a massive response has been amazing to us. we love playing over there and cant wait to come back!!
In may you’ll be playing Treasurefest, sharing stage with bands like Across five aprils. Are you excited about that?
the treasurefest show should be amazing. number one because it has an amazing lineup, number two because we get to travel to sweden and play there and number three we get to hang out with our awesome friends in penknife lovelife again!

Bring me the horizon - Suicide season: Cut up

So, yesterday Bring me the horizon finally released Suicide season: Cut up, a remix of their latest full-length. At first I was a bit sceptical about it, thinking it was going to be another "let's put some drum&bass beats to that song and call it a remix" but already the first track proves me wrong. It's more like the opposite, a few small artists produced songs and in their songs they used shreds of Bring me the horizon's songs. There is also a difference between the songs, they don't sound all the same. A big plus (personally then): Bring me the horizon worked with quite underground artists instead of the big ones, so they get a chance to proof their-selfs. Bottom line, if you're into partying and you like Suicide season then this cd is a big recommendation!

Finale
A little bit about the good things on surfing around really late.
I am checking out my twitter updates as I bump on a tweet from Every time I die "as promised, all FINALE songs are now available for download at www.myspace.com/thefinalemusic". Curious as I am, I decided to take a look.
The genre was specified as indie, I would rather go for folk/acoustic (think a little bit like City&Colour). I noticed Keith Buckley (vocalist of ETID) was on vocals. Knowing Keith has a sweet, sweet voice, this can't be bad! And yes; from the moment I heared the first note I was sold. There is also an acoustic version of one of their songs, this one touched me truely.
So if you either like Keith's voice or bands such as City&Colour, you have to check this out! I promise; you won't regret doing it!
